In October 2008, Kendle International announced it was expanding its global headquarters at the Carew Tower. The company, which provides clinical research and regulatory consultancy services to biopharmaceutical companies in 80 countries, will hire 75 new employees over the next three years and invest $4.4 million in new facilities. Kendle is the largest tenant in the Carew Tower, occupying over 130,000 sq. ft. of office space. The company employs 3,000 people worldwide, including 629 in Cincinnati.
Chris Bortz’ work as Chairman of the Economic Development Council at City Council and as Chairman of the GO Cincinnati report contributed to the City being able to negotiate this deal.
