Graeter’s

On March 5, 2009, Graeter’s announced plans to build a 28,000 square foot plant in Bond Hill. The new facility will accommodate the Cincinnati icon’s plans to expand into new markets. It will cost approximately $11 million to build the site and will create 50 new jobs, with the potential to create additional jobs within several years.

These additional jobs and investment in the City would not have been created without the coordinated effort of the City of Cincinnati’s Economic Development Division, Mayor Mallory and the City Manager’s office.

The new state-of-the-art facility will open in January 2010 and will make our City’s favorite hometown ice cream available nationwide. Graeter’s has committed to “stay and grow” in Cincinnati for a minimum of 20 years.

The GO Cincinnati study, chaired by Chris Bortz, called for an enhanced Business Retention and Expansion office in the city, which negotiated this deal. The study also focused the city on certain neighborhoods with the most growth potential, including this location in OTR.
